Dr. Namrata Nayar

MBBS, FRACP, MAMCE-03 (Clin Epi)

Dr. Namrata Nayar is a highly qualified Medical Oncologist, who has been a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Gosford Private Hospital since 2017, and also serves as a Senior Staff Specialist in Medical Oncology and General Medicine at Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), Wyong and Gosford Hospital.

After graduating with an MBBS from India, Dr. Nayar completed her Advanced Training in Medical Oncology at the North Coast Cancer Institute and Central Coast Cancer Centre, Gosford Hospital. Her strong interest in clinical research led her to complete a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology (MAMCE-03) at the University of Sydney.

She was also a Research Fellow for the Australia and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate Cancer Trials Group (ANZUP) and the Australasian Gastrointestinal Cancer Trials Group (AGITG) at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney.

Dr. Nayar has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented posters at various National and International Annual Scientific Meetings, including MOGA, COSA, ASCO GU, and AGITG. 

She is an active associate member of leading professional organizations such as ASCO, ESMO, AGITG, ANZUP, TOGA, and BCT. She actively participates in quality assurance projects and clinical audits at Wyong Hospital and previously served as an expert steering committee member for the Lookback District Steering Group - SABSI Porta Cath for Hunter New England Local Health District and Calvary Mater Newcastle.

She is a Conjoint Lecturer with the University of Newcastle and is passionate about teaching medical students and JMOs and providing mentorship and supervision to BPTs preparing for their FRACP exams. She also serves as an assessor for Work Based Assessment for AMC candidates.

Dr. Nayar is involved in multidisciplinary meetings for breast cancer, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, genitourinary cancer, and skin cancer at Gosford Public Hospital. She consults at the Gosford Private Consulting Suites with admitting rights to Gosford Private Hospital, Gosford Hospital and Wyong Hospital.
